I also recommend Trane. The one in my house lasted for 13 years before the fan motor went out (wasn't cooling that well either) and since it wasn't energy efficient we opted to replace the entire unit (heat pump). It would've probably lasted longer in more temperate conditions but I live in Texas and it's hot most of the time. That was five years ago and we haven't had any problems. It has a ten year warranty as long as you keep up with the maintenance. Make sure to shop around for installers. They'll likely want to come look at your home and unit before giving a quote.
