    So far it seems to be going easy on children, but schools are an easy place for it to spread between families. That said, closing schools is a big problem, especially for poor families.

    Exactly. Closing grade schools has been shown to be ineffective anyway at preventing anything, and just causes massive economic and social disruption

    I can't go much deeper into this without pulling out my card carrying member of the Socialist party -> but the school my wife works at all the kids get free lunch and breakfast because poor neighborhood. The county schools my nephews go to get free lunch and breakfast across hte board.

    It sucks. Closing schools is hte worst idea. Peirod. full stop.

    I'm not saying it isn't. Im just saying I'm hoping people aren't going to be stupid about it and do things thinking they're going to help but really they're just screwing people over. It's the social policy equivalent of hoarding toilet paper.

    btw, college kids (as in undergrads) are usually not the ones posting work on mturk. Grad students do and working in a "lab", sitting at a desk, emailing their supervisor, reading papers and creating surveys vs working at home doing exactly the same thing shouldn't affect mturk. And since they probably want to end their studies, they won't see this as a great time to take a break.

    My dad is currently in the hospital and we can't visit him because of the Coronavirus. There's one confirmed case in the hospital and two hospital workers who had it. My mom is in the at risk age group and I really didn't want to take her to see him anyway so I was relieved but feel really bad for my dad.

    I was in Chicago when my dad was in the hosptal in Kentucky. I called him daily. Video calls seemed to help.
