03/14 - Three Hundred Thursday!

It always sounds weird for me to say my bff's experience was "easy" but that is how she classifies it in comparison to a lot of people she knows (and talks to, she regularly talks to newly diagnosed women to help them with their journey). Comparatively to others I have also known, it was easy. Three surgeries, no chemo, no radiation...much easier than others. My son's former piano teacher has been battling the same type of cancer for two years now and wow...her journey is the EXACT opposite of easy, and then still down two or three levels of suckage (that was an insurance issue, it took them FOUR MONTHS to diagnose the lump as cancer...ugh...)

Glad MIL is coming around to you now!!! Facing cancer can change the way we view life, and it sounds like her change is for the positive.

(And it can't hurt to get a base mammogram of a young, healthy breast if you have any history of cancer in your family, but otherwise...yeah, 28 is young for one. Bff's oldest daughter is 26 and doctors haven't yet suggested she get a mammo even knowing her mom had breast cancer, but I want her to get one by age 30.)
