There are apps that can flag your traffic as not tether though.

 

I've been tethering since like 2008 2010 maybe? on virgin mobile and now on tmobile. Never had to pay for tethering. Never been told to stop. I've never severely abused it or anything, but I did do it as my only source of internet for months at a time.

 

I swear, sometimes it sounds to me like y'all are speaking a foreign language.
