TL;DR

One issue you're going up against is that some turkers have an insanely irrational response to rejections. How many times over the years have we seen people go to war over a rejection on a 20 cent survey? People will spend hours fighting with a requester, their IRB, department chair, Obama, etc.

Even if we don't even consider that you probably just ensured that no one you emailed will ever use mturk again, you've lost way more money than 20 cents by sacrificing that time.

Also here's a quick tip. Free of charge. Requesters choose their own display name. If requester wanted to scam people would they use their real name?

Rejections happen. It's part of turking.

Ignorant and inexperienced requesters happen. It's part of turking.

Accepting a hit with a 1 min timer? Part of first day turking

As to not being able to review a batch. Well that's just shit scripting. First hit isn't an accurate representation of a batch

 

I understand where you're coming from. I can absolutely agree with most of it, but I do think there lies a problem in trusting Amazon to have our back. Until Amazon starts being more transparent with why accounts get banned, I don't see how we can trust them to be fair with us. I think we will always need something that keeps people accountable.

I do agree that a review platform shouldn't be strictly a threat, and I also agree that people should be able to improve as requesters and not have their past haunt them. I don't know what magic wand we can wave that can make all of this happen though. We really don't have recall if our account gets shut down, there isn't even a phone number we can call to talk to a human. We have to communicate via email and hope they deign to give us a response.

Amazon has been better, I have gotten responses back, but I still don't think they're good enough to be the only answer we have.

He THREW ROCKS at me with his friends (small rocks, but they are still assholes) and has been to juvie for mass theft. He also purposely frightens my dog.

He's like 17 now, he's past teen crush and into fucking creepy.

I literally had to talk to his dad, cause he keeps setting off firecrackers when my dog is out and shit to upset him and brags about how my dog is a "meowwy Grinch." The kid is legit creepy and Skeeter hates his guts at this point.

Also, let's not encourage young adults to stand outside women's windows to watch them. That's fully creepy. I told him to knock it off, politely the first time, and more aggresively the next times.
