re:jury duty - hey guys, maybe different districts/states/cities/towns/what-have-yous do things....I don't know, what's the word....DIFFERENTLY!!!

 

What error are you getting? You might just need to go through the hits in your queue and find the one that will load. And that's assuming you didn't return any Endor recently, like the UPG survey.

 

My dad always just pretended to be super racist/sexist/etc. so he wouldn't get chosen.

What happens (assuming you're on a petit jury, I'm not sure how grand jury works), is you call and find out if your group has to show up. Generally they won't if a case gets settled, or someone pleads out, or something like that. Probably why you don't have to show up tomorrow morning. Then when you go, it's with a big group of people. Then they narrow down that group during voir dire - that's when they'll see if you know anyone involved in the trial, have biases, what your knowledge of the situation is, background info, etc.

So you have to go show up, but you may not actually have jury duty. You just have "sit on your ass and wait your turn to be questioned" duty, which is what I've had my two days (they never got to me the first day, and then dismissed us for the rest of the week. Got called back for today, and now since they still didn't get to me I have to go sit on my ass again tomorrow and see if they get to me, and if they do, if they will choose me, and if they do, then I sit on the jury as long as is necessary.)

Call has different definitions you know. In this case, I wasn't speaking as in using the phone, you get "called for jury duty" meaning you must show up in person. Most counties have website check-ins set up these days.

 

I just realized what was happening. I had a John Doe open! I don't know about anyone else but everytime I have accidently had one endor hit open, it won't let me do another.

 

I thought about that, but I can't do that. I can't promise I won't break down crying while they're asking me questions though because, well, one, I'm generally a paranoid type, and two, I almost cried today when I found out the charges and looked at the defendant (remember, I'm old... and he's like barely older than my kid).

 

The fact that my group was pushed a second time makes it fairly likely that I won't have to even show up for that.

 

We actually do have a phone number to call with a prerecorded message. LOL

Not necessarily. That just means that the trial you were intended for probably didn't happen.

 

Absolutely, I was referring to his unnecessary "savage" comment. Everything near me has both, website and phone number, and that's the case for most locations because you can't assume everyone has access to the internet regularly. Many, as in millions, don't have access to the internet at home.

 

After knowing everything I know about your dad, I just know he was super convincing too.

 

philly is still on the "call a phone number the night before" system as well. You can do your pre-voi dire questionnaire online though

Pros:
I appreciate life to the fullest after this HIT. Being in touch with humans again has never been felt so good before. I will never play video games for at least a month.
Cons:
WORST GAME EVER, not even a game but a torture.

You need to play the game/torture 20 periods for 3 mins each, so 60 mins is gone for nothing. Will not do it again if the "performance based" bonus was $20.
