03/19 - Timid Tuesday!

Yea i've done two cloud gaming, NVidias thing and googles thing, they worked ok but it deff has an issue with latency/lag.. I have a very fast connection and was still getting serious lag, enough that competitive play isn't possible

 

just buy a good graphics card

 

you can own your games. that's how you get access to play the games...

you just play them in the cloud.

Being able to play games through a top of the line computer on the highest graphics and shit is pretty sweet without having to pay thousands of dollars to upgrade every few years.

 

Nobody is forcing you to use their service. I won't be using it for example.

You could buy a measly graphics card like a 1060 and they're powerful enough to run most anything...

 

Yeah man it'll be so dope when a datacenter runs into an issue and you can't access your games. Or when you actually try to play something other than Assassin's Creed Odyssey, particularly online, and need good ping. Lmao. Somehow you continue to surprise me daily.

 

You won't be playing at top of the line quality through the service and playing on high for games doesn't require a $3k upgrade every year.

If you are okay with decent quality at 60fps this service is for you, otherwise you should keep playing games locally.


It could be really cool in the future for VR though.

Are you just guessing or did they actually report the hardware that you'd be using?
From what I've read on things like geforce now - they use pretty substantial top notch hardware on their computers.

 

I guess the difference is computers are a hobby for me and my husband so dropping the money to upgrade them is just fine. And do you own the games? Do you have the physical game in hand? Can you freely install it offline? Can you play it offline in any way?(I get not all games can) I've hated this move to digital gaming for a long time. I fucking hate steam and all the likes but I tend to have to use them if I want to play anything these days

Yeah I'm not being forced but I fear the direction it's going to take gaming. I'm just voicing annoyance at it. Anyone can do as they please.

 

I hope they have Farmville, I like that game.

 

You realize that the service has been in close beta right? It is 60fps and looks pretty great but it is still 60fps.
