    *hides head in shame* I was a cross over year....they forced me to get my score in both the normal numbers and that weird ass 22something. And I vaugley remember a blockbuster being in our town I think....for like a month....

    But I don't want to be a millennial!!

    I think part of the problem is the way people talk about millennials. It's very much used as a "those damn youths" phrase. Millennials are getting into their thirties now.

    To clarify I'm referring specifically to the idea that different generations have different quirks. Generations weren't officially named until the 60s with the Baby Boomers because the census referenced the literal baby boom as an event, and advertisers were like MONEY!!

    (This is also why Gen X is largely ignored; marketers weren't interested in their demographic bc distracted by the boomers, and then eventually skipped straight down to millenials.)

    There's a large section of people considered millennials who remember growing up before the prevelance of the internet. I always contend that they should be separate. I subscribe to the Oregon trail generation theory .

    I basically say that if you used a dial-up modem at one point, you're not really a millennial, even though by some standards I still am. I think I am a xennial (never heard of that until now), cuz I really do believe that dank memes melt steel beams, and I did buy a MC Hammer tape in 1st grade. Best of both worlds

    see, I fit there, but I was born in 88.....maybe it's cuz we were poor so we were slow to adopt to tech? I remember the day we finally ditched dial-up internet...it was literally after I met my husband.
