    The art museum in my city did a Rothko exhibition about 7 years ago and I've been obsessed with him. Especially his later work. I wanted to sit down in the museum and sleep/live under one of his paintings. Total emotional reaction. :)

    Another Duchamp piece I like is Nude Descending a Staircase No. 2

    Even the cubists thought this was too experimental and they didn't care for it, but I think it adds motion to the painting where other cubists were doing 3D stills in 2D.

    Duchamp was probably the most influential artist of the 20th century. Lots of his stuff in at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which is a must if you ever go. Seriously, it's way better than the cheesesteaks. Just find the Rocky Statue, take your picture, then turn around and go to the museum.
