Your children are teenagers, they can deal. Going out candy shopping in the middle of a pandemic is the peak of non-essential, unless you have a diabetic in your family or something. If they were under 10, I could understand, but also you really should've had all that stuff on hand beforehand or picked it up on your last trip out.
