04/04 - Sunshine Saturday

I got ma mammoth, teddy bear, and firecracker sunflower seeds germinated and sprouted. Probably wayyyy too early, but oh well. Won't hurt to have some window sil sunflower seedlings for a month or so

 

Just because there are also other people out there with issues doesn't mean your own should be dismissed or minimized. Everyone's in a rough place right now.

 

you don't have to compare your struggle with "people who have it worse", someone will always have it worse, it doesn't invalidate your pain or hardship. hang in there the best you can, we're all in this together. don't hesitate to reach out to anyone if you need support.

my veggies are taking off, and i keep going back and forth with starting my sunflowers too. i'm so excited and ready to start gardening, especially with how nice the weather has been, but i have to remind myself it's only april. i read that sunflowers can tolerate colder weather than i thought, so i'm sure yours will be fine even if you have to put them out early! at least i think i read that... i hope i read that... i could have dreamt it.

 

I needed this. I had been beating myself up because I thought I would have all this time to work on painting and art stuff but I don't. I have no time. I even started getting judgy about one of my friends that seems to be coasting through this and creating so much but I realize that's just what I see online. We are all doing what we can minute by minute and it's enough.

 

I love sunflowers.

Letting it out could help though. I basically have a daily cry or grief time. It's not always on schedule but it's so necessary to not bottle stuff up.

 

there are days i'm completely paralyzed and do literally nothing, and others i go full mania and make a spreadsheet of everything in my kitchen. both extremes are completely normal, especially since normal means nothing right now. all anyone can do is just make it through every day and if everyone is still alive and fed, it's a good day.

Ah, I see that you're fluent in this weird new language my daughter started speaking recently.

 

Alright. Updated. It feels a bit out of reach though. Will probably need to pace myself throughout the day to get there.
