PROM!!!! Which translates to: Most expensive day of the year for parents, and the equivalant of working a double shift. I made condom bouquets for the limo and stuck condoms to index cards on posts all over town,lol. I gave my daughter 3 plan b pills to have on hand for any friends that may need one. 2 moms are furious with me for "approving" of "bad behavior". I don't think it is about approval, I just want kids to be safe. We live in a town of 4k people, the graduating class is like 60 kids. There is nothing for them to do here.
We do a lock in all night for after prom and the town business's donate prizes (pretty nice ones). We have those big sumo outfits for the young adults to wear and do matches and other games. The local country club hosts their dinner and food for the lock in is provided by the 2 pizza joints. And breakfast is brought in. But they always leave early and go out to the pastures for a kegger. A group of us sign up to be chauffers, they are well informed to call for rides. We don't provide the alcohol, but thinking that these kids are any different than every generation before is just stupid IMO.

 

I ran out of dubbed episodes and caved on watching the sub because I didn’t want to wait who knows how long to finish this arc(episodes 105-131 are sub only) @morweeg Gokus voice is so much better in the dub IMO but still enjoyable to watch

 

So yesterday, the roommate's son got a negative behavior mark for disrupting class (he's 7), and usually that means that he can't play video games or use his tablet for the day. So we asked him what happened when he got home...

Apparently, one of their spelling words was "balls" and he pointed that out aloud and laughed (along with a few other boys in class)...both the roommate and I laughed just as much as he did, so we couldn't bring ourselves to enforce the punishment for that one.

Gotta love kids! I remember being called to the school once because my son shared "troubling information" during the DARE program. Apparently, when they discussed crack, he started crying. He told them that his mommy is always telling his daddy to "stop smoking crack". Trying to explain that it was sarcasm was not going over well. They actually called the authorities!
