question for the experts - if I go to walmart and get headphones/earbuds that cost less than $30, hopefully like $10, will they break fast? I can't wait to order new ones. I was supposed to turk a lot more than I did over the last few days. I couldn't because of noise. so I want something right away, but it wouldn't be worth it if they will break right away.

 

I had these at one point and they lasted for over a year (until I switched, they didn't actually break). The sound quality was surprisingly not bad either.

So the specs I ended up with is an ASUS ROG STRIX with an i7-7700HQ, GTX 1060 3GB(full desktop one), 12gb of ram, 1tb HDD, and the screen is 1080p 60HZ. I definitely plan on eventually upgrading the HDD to an SSD, and go up to 16gb of ram if that's an easy upgrade.

The thing that surprises me the most though is that the laptop has GSYNC, even though it's 60hz. Not sure the use of that if this laptop can handle 60fps without a problem but I found that interesting.

I finally have it set up and all to work on here all day! The extra screen real estate over my little lenovo is definitely an improvement along with the increased power. Can't believe I traded a desktop I built for ~$600 for this!

Requester was fairly prompt in responding to the issue I encountered with the HIT, had reasonable explanations, and was able to accommodate and provide a link to finish the task, although the timing of the issue made completing the second portion more difficult; I would anticipate someone who wasn't sleep deprived would be able to easily outscore my bonus in the task.

wo there partner... You built a new computer and didnt get an SSD to start? Comon man. They are dirt cheap these days and are the largest improvement you will notice to system speed over any other component.

Its not huge, but its large enough to put an operating system on and a few AAA games. For 20 bucks more, you can get the 500gb version. Crucial is excellent for the price, atleast when compared to Samsung. I guess my one piece of advice that not a lot of people know, is that you can plug that drive in to any desktop as a secondary and mirror the image of the main operating system to the new SSD. Then you shut down, install the SSD as your primary and bam, you are back up and running within minutes without having to reinstall an OS. If you are going from a larger HDD to a smaller SSD, you will need to use some different software since some mirroring software has trouble shrinking partitions. I was able to do it using a free one and it works perfectly. I forgot the name, but I could get it if interested. Its on my GF's laptop.
