I always liked the idea of launching from high altitude. A good solution for putting up thousands of microsats for global internet connectivity if cheap, reusable, big rockets don't work out. Also good for quick sat replacement and not having to keep spares in orbit.

It's an awesome concept! Matt loves it. We've been a bit worried tho, just cause after Paul Allen passed, the lady who took over promplty axed the other strato programs and layed off most of the people we knew. Luckily, Matt works for the other company that was doing the design work, so it wasn't like he'd be out of job, but things have been super stressful lately cause it wasn't a sure thing it would launch at all anymore. I'm really proud of the design team for buckling down and making it happen. There were 16 people in the control room and a ton of ground crew on top of the pilots in the plane itself, and they all busted ass. The team is less than 50 people and it's crazy what they accomplished. We're about to partay tonight, tho! Gotta celebrate before getting back to work!

I forgot to check the time but I would guess around 20 min. for me. maybe the requester used to have it posted with a shorter timer.
