ohhh, I would not do that. Having a broken link is basically their fault, but do not submit it anyway. Just wait, ask in here to see whether others are having the same problem so we can come up with a working link.

If you did the HIT and you received no code but you were supposed to get one, then it might be OK to submit it with your worker ID and letting them know. Many people do that, I do that. But that is not a safe choice either, IT IS YOUR DECISION to submit it with your worker ID.

Anyway, but never submit a HIT that you did not do (unless otherwise told by the REQUESTER) because of a broken link or something.

 

@Tia Diggs I always report it as not working and then it's automatically removed from my queue. Did you submit it despite not being able to take the survey? If you submitted it even though the link was broken you might be stuck with that rejection

 

I guess I'm stuck with it then. I submitted with my ID and sent a message to the requester letting them know what was going on but I guess he didn't get it or got it and didn't care and rejected it anyway. @GingerMom2016 @Girl Polar Bear

Small lessons learned! Just irritating because so many HITs are approving slow and then this stupid rejection.

It's better than a rejection for a survey that you actually did. I get that it's aggravating, but if you look at it from their side, they would have had to pay you for no results.

Personally, when a survey link doesn't work, I just return the hit and move on. Sometimes if I know it's a good one, I will try and resolve it or check here to see what other people are doing. But for the most part, seeing it's broken and returning it is a 15 second loss to my day, and not all of this extra crap you are dealing with now.

If, after completing a HIT I get a nocode, I first double-check the instructions on the HIT page to make sure it doesn't say "submit with your mturk ID when finished" or "submit any 6 numbers" or some other instruction.

If further instruction is absent, I submit with Mturk ID. I have a little note I just cut and paste, and I send it as a message to the requester

If there was some specific further failure on the final page, I'll include that information too, like describing a specific page error or mentioning that the field in a qualtrics completion page that should obviously hold the code was blank, or NaN, etc.



E: As for a rejection on a nocode, it's a bummer, and sometimes you can get them reversed if you write the requester a message, but just assume that any nocode you submit is a rejection and work enough numbers hits and you'll be fine.
