That is a pretty good trouble thing, and if it's for a college all someone has to do is take note of the contact info and report him.

o.o I was trying to figure out if I left that in a screenshot I took recently.. but my Chrome theme has been cyan/black for a LONG time, so I don't think it is. Where's that from?

Cylinder Hairband is pretty OP for Geneticists, I've had two since Feb. :emoji_nerd:

bleh. my direct deposit from work that I'm getting paid next tuesday has a $200 bonus. which brought me up to the next tax bracket, and my paycheck is only $60 more than usual.

What is this 'tax bracket' that you speak of? Also, what is 'tax'?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.. but I don't think that is how taxes work.. You get taxed at a higher rate for the earnings past X amount.

For example (and these numbers are prob a bit out of date and not exact)

    10%: from $0 to $7,550
    15%: from $7,551 to $30,650
    25%: from $30,651 to $74,200
    28%: from $74,201 to $154,800
    33%: from $154,801 to $336,550
    35%: $336,551 and above

The more you make the easier it is to pay less in taxes.

We have had family staying with us, so I haven't caught much outside of the Leafs-Caps, who are going to OT again.

Also, pardon me if I have little sympathy about a game involving the Bruins and blown leads *cough*game7*cough

Nah those are the defaults and there is always ways to make it lower by properly documenting your stuff.

updated numbers are here (although these numbers are for 2017 not 2016 so don't use them for your 2016 tax stuff lol) https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040es.pdf

maybe that's end of year tax, for when you do your taxes. but I'm talking about the local/state/federal taxes in my paycheck each week. After around 49 hours, in my experience, it appears that your earnings per hour after taxes will start to plateau until around 60ish hours your check won't increase much at all.

about 10 years ago, I worked a job doing I think $11/hr. for two weeks I worked 50 hours (we had no people), the next two, I worked about 60, and the next two I came close to 70 each week. there was a girl there that worked in a similar situation, except she had opted to go salary while I chose to stay hourly. she chose salary because it was about a fifty cent raise per fifty hour week. i chose hourly because I didn't want to be forced to work up to fifty hours. my check was much better than hers, but when I saw that my second two weeks pay was nearly the same as the previous two weeks pay despite twenty hours difference... I never did it again. I have heard similar stories from other people.

Bonuses are taxed differently than income. They're supplemental wages.
