04/19 - Scrumptious Sunday!

Yes I filed 2019 at the beginning of April. I filed 2018 last year as well. From the FAQ I noticed that I could be getting that message because my 2019 hasn't been processed yet but that seems silly cuz they could have just used 2018's info

 

That was my status up until 2 days ago when it changed to "We're mailing a check to you on April 24". A lot of people seem to be getting the April 24th message though so I'm not sure how much faith I have in that. I knew that I wouldn't get a direct deposit because I haven't gotten a refund for a number of years, but I was hoping there would be some kind of portal that would allow me to enter my direct deposit information. I guess not. Still though, I feel like that April 24th thing might be some sort of boiler plate message meant to appease the masses. I just don't trust it.

 

If you read the FAQ it does say that the IRS can't deposit funds into your bank account if you have only used that account to make payments to the IRS. Evidently that's not allowed. Which makes sense honestly.

 

It probably doesn't matter, but for the record I filed 2019 taxes on the first day of April. I did read that the stimulus checks are being prioritized according to income. Those with lower incomes are supposed to get the checks sooner than those with higher incomes. So maybe that's some consolation for you. You made more money than at least 2 of us last year!

I receive direct deposit from Social Security in the same account that I paid my federal taxes with, so maybe that is why I didn't receive an automatic stimulus payment in my bank account. As long as I receive the mailed check and in the correct amount in the expected time-frame, I'm okay with that.

 

Got the email from Positly and caught it in about 15 minutes.

 

I didn't get an email but I caught the $10 and $12. Wondering if I should attempt the other.

 

My grandpa is on social security and he got his direct deposited on Wednesday, I think it is just a matter of the sheer number of people they are trying process. Hopefully we get them sooner than later, it would be nice if the IRS portal actually gave some info though lol

All the people I've talked to who are Social Security have no issues that could affect their stimulus payment getting sent to them automatically into their bank account have already received theirs. 99% people on Social Security who have their check direct deposited, so I was starting to get concerned until I got the "Your check is being mailed" message.

I just figured that is what because I owed $131 in federal taxes due to MTurk. I just hope that they don't take my federal taxes out of the $1,200 check because they already took it last Monday.

Luckily, I received my $131 DC "state" refund and that cancelled out my federal taxes. I fully expect not to have my state refund cancel out my federal taxes next year thanks to budget shortfalls and the fact I'm on track to earn way more on MTurk than last year. Plus, I'm an election poll worker again this year and they don't take federal taxes out before they send you the check.

 

I didn't either. I guess just try to catch one again and see if it works. I see six out there now.

They won't. The only condition in which they will take money out of your check is if you owe child support. You are not expected to pay taxes on that $1200 either.

I'm being nosy, so please disregard this question if you don't care to answer, but I'm curious, is there a limit to how much you can make on Mturk without it interfering with your social security benefits?
