I would try Advantage (or similar) for flea control in addition. Please make sure whatever flea control product you use is specifically for cats. There is a type of flea medication designed for dogs that is toxic to cats. Your vet can also give gentamicin spray +/- a mild steroid if it truly is hot spot related, but based on what you've described here that probably won't be necessary. Good luck

I give my cats Nitenpyram. The bottle has a picture of a dog and cat LOL. I tried the Advantage and other similar products but it seems the fleas are immune to it. The Nitenpyram seems to be the only thing that actually kills the fleas for some reason. Thanks!
