No, I'm saying don't kill someone.
But if you do have an alibi and a reason you were in a strange area. Vacation, you hike on a regular, etc. or go toss the body in the ocean so the sharkos take care of things.

I'm not advocating for them to get away with murder. I'm not rooting for child killers to get away with things, but just commenting that it seems all half-assed and stupid.

I suppose that's a good point though - with the taking off work or whatever

Did the dad work though btw? I think I read he was an attorney, but I wasn't really following the story much except just regurgitating probably borderline incorrect info my gf's been feeding me.

    :( i don't like it.

not much about anything the parents did seemed logical, it's like they didn't even try. everything they said disagreed with the next thing they said, they said that tiny kid weighed 70lbs. it's like they thought they could just report the kid as missing and not have to answer any follow-up questions. i can almost see them doing the pikachu shock face meme as they were answering questions.

"The parents each face multiple charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery, domestic battery and failure to report a missing child or child death. Freund Sr. faces an additional charge of concealment of a death"
Those charges sound like it was accidental. They either OD'd him or beat him to death on accident. They panicked and hid him. I doubt they were thinking clearly in that- a mix of drugs & impending prison can f up your head

They should never have gotten custody back of the kid. So many "unfounded" accusations of abuse. He was born with drugs in his system. While the parents are shitty for what they did, DFACS needs to reevaluate if that is what they are sending children into.

And they should. With as many documented complaints they had against that family, someone should have been checking on him, even if they found no proof on that visit.

the system totally failed him, it's heartbreaking. someone else from crystal lake commented that they knew a dcfs worker who was handling 300 cases at once, but honestly that wouldn't even be an excuse to miss major reasons to take them out of the home months/year ago. there was a laundry list of reasons they shouldn't have had custody from just their last visit, and workload aside, when you inspect a living situation and see 1. feces on the walls, dog feces and urine everywhere, 2. exposed pipes, peeling paint, broken windows, 3. no power or heat in the home, 4. bruises on the kid's hip that the parents were blase about. ??? like, how.
