    Thanks for looking out.
    When it comes to replacing them in iMacs its a bit more involved then just swapping out the parts. I'm not sure if this particular HD would be compatible but I'll do some research! I do plan to repair it at some point but right now mostly deciding between building a new one and buying another iMac ^_^

    Oh right.. it is an imac.. in that case you would need a 2.5" HDD and then anything would technically work but they are a pain in the ass to get to if what I googled is true.

    SSDs are also an option but more expensive.

    Since its already dead I have every intention to tear it apart and attempt a fix...if only just to have a better idea of the process for the future so I'll keep an eye out for 2.5" HDD.

    If you don't need much storage an SSD will make the computer a lot faster and honest I suggest people use one as their OS drive these days anyways.

    Ehhh, maybe if I wasn't gone most of the day.. :lol: but I agree, they're a bit harder than the 40 centers.

    I don't mind putting an SSD in it (or any future computer).
    I wasn't storing much on the iMac itself anyway. I was storing all of my files on an external HD for the most part and working from that...only thing really on the HD were apps, games, and cloud storage based files.
