If you try to accept a hit that you otherwise should be qualed for and it says "not qualed" you are blocked.

 

RIP everyone who completes the HIT. Seems like the block is preventing retakes.

 

You know the hilarious thing is that amazon suggests doing that in the documentation to prevent retakes.

Ah, so that's what a block looks like...

 

I haven't heard of anyone getting in trouble/banned/losing masters for blocks in a really long time (since I have been turking so ever). I heard stories of it in the past but nothing in the past year.

 

It has happened recently doe.

 

I'm pretty sure that getting blocks flags your account but doesn't get you banned / lose masters right away.

 

Not afaik.. I don't think mturk releases much in the way of survey type guidelines, blocks are usually shown for poor quality in the reference material but maybe its in one of the older pdfs can't remember at this point lol

 

I just got back online -- so whoever takes the n williams survey gets a block afterwards?

If that's the case, I'll just return mine.

Is it one of those fancy iframes that captures your mturk ID? They might just block anyone that accepts it.

 

I remember someone linking to the page that it talked about what I said on reddit. clickhappier or w/e his name is normally is the one that mentions it.

hell if I know though, I'm w/ you I haven't really heard of many suspensions outside scamming, but they do usually roll off after being blocked by reqs like barcodes/google

barcodes has been an insta-suspension & always accompanied by a block in the 3-4 cases I've seen in the last year or so

 

the rest of this sentence should read "but given how difficult it is to know/tell if/when/how/why a worker is being blocked a juju rain dance could equally be the cause" lol

To be specific the google ones seem to only happen on an endor wide block. Or at least nobody got banned after Brian Z blocked us while I do know about people losing their account after all 40 or w/e endor accounts mass blocked them lmao.
