It is prob one of amazon's quals.

 

She teaches business at Harvard, has a ton of believable and credible sources that support her work. The book is interesting and up my alley. She's giving people a gift card to buy the book, not for a review...it's basically a survey on the one chapter you are asked to write about. She's not farming reviews. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah I googled for what it was; only thing is, I have no idea how to get it without happening to be there when the HITs drop and looking at what qualifications I'd need.

The searching for qualifications function doesn't seem to be a part of the new Worker site.

It makes sense from your end, like 99.9% of review things are scammy. But this one isn't. She's got a great Turk history, and it's not a review she's wanting, as in she doesn't want a posted review. I'm assuming whatever we write will be talking points in a class or something.

She's generous and I'm cool with it. But as I said earlier, lol, I avoid review hits like the plague, because most just want a 5 star and it feels scummy.

 

It's a reference to a well-known Amazon review.

 

Yeah worker took out a lot of features like that >.> but meh they had worker up for around a year to allow us to get used to it.

Even if somebody decides they aren't comfortable doing the hit because they feel that it may be in violation of tos, which I think is arguable in cases like these, I still think it's probably worth catching the HIT now, because you can always decide to return it tomorrow after you sleep on it if you decide that you're uncomfortable.

I do think the tos, especially in cases like these, is a little too ambiguous; asking workers to review a work is acceptable, and providing a work to workers is acceptable, but does offering the book indirectly by providing a payment to the worker to independently obtain the book cross into a violation? I don't think it's clear. I do think, however, that it's awfully unlikely* that it would be considered inappropriate, and even more unlikely** that any action would be taken against a worker.

*I mean, it's a free country
**Then again, you pick your number and you take your chance

 

I'm not sure why 70% of people think this sentence is true. Is there something I missed?

It's the word Acute more than likely.

 

Yeah, I don't remember reading the word "acute" when I took my qual test, but I'm on cold medicine so my observations are suspect.

I hear ya. Again, I'm on the other end of it a lot. The getting paid to leave a review side and though I don't see any connection from MTurk and Amazon reviews, I just thought throwing out there was more of a "Hey, just keep an eye out."

Because, yes, this one specific person is legit. However, for new workers, they may get swept up by the others like "Robinhood" folks.
