I make a lot of lists as well, but I'm still not going to be productive until I find a list app that will nag me consistently. It's too easy for me to slip my mind and have things go out of focus.

    1. I rent my house from my boss for $600 a month (it's basically a small apartment, and it's in really bad condition) and I pay all utilities. My car payment is $270. I have two dogs and three cats that all enjoy food and staying healthy. Other expenses are the usual adult expenses: car insurance, phone bill, groceries, snobby craft beer. Okay, not that the beer is an official expense, but that's kind of what I splurge on. I have a great taproom down the street from me that I "let" myself go to regularly. And I keep my beer fridge at home well stocked. I also "let" myself splurge on videogames, but I rarely buy them full price (more on that later).

Like I've said before, I have three jobs and this is by far the most profitable. I work at a chiro office 3 days a week which is about $150 a week. For many reasons, I've drastically scaled back the time I work there. It overall made me very unhappy. Being able to not work there full time is one freedom that turk gave me. My other job is caregiving every day for a man with Parkinson's. Caregiving is what I want to do as an actual career, and I obviously couldn't do it if I worked an average 9-5 job, or a job with a changing schedule. So, turk gave me that too.

    2. My dad was my only family. 100%. I dropped half of my life when he was diagnosed with COPD, then the rest of it when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Once the dust settled from his death, I needed to earn my own money without his income, and without being miserable at aforementioned office job. I've been on mturk since 2012 but didn't use it for actual income, so I joined MTG in February of 2016 and hi. After a few months of turking, I was able to get off food stamps. All in all, I'm able to limit a part-time job that makes me unhappy, I'm able to do a part-time job that I truly enjoy, and I was able to stand on my own two feet after my entire world was shattered with my dad's death.

    3. My dad, as a single parent with a little girl, had to be unconventional about income. He had odd jobs, but mostly flipped antiques. We'd go to garage sales and thrift stores every single Friday to buy things for him to flip. He started with large furniture that he'd strip, stain, etc, and sold them at a flea market. Then he joined eBay in '96 or '97 (back when you had to mail physical checks to pay for an item) and sold small items. He was able to make eBay so profitable that it was his only income until the day he died. So, I was very well versed in unconventional earnings and spending. Garage sales, thrift stores, eBay. If I can buy something used, I will. Within reason. Not about to buy used panties or anything. Anything that's new comes from sales online, Walmart, Target, discount stores, etc. Of course there are things you NEED good quality on, and I'll let myself buy that, and won't feel guilty about it because I know I cut corners everywhere else. (shameless plug for /r/buyitforlife too)

    - And I let my fingers do the work when I want to find a good deal. Coupons, comparing prices, waiting for sales, researching, asking questions, etc. I'm really good at filling my amazon cart, waiting a day, and deleting what I don't need. Or put everything I want and don't need on a wishlist and waiting until they're cheap enough or until I let myself spoil myself.

    - I shop at Aldi ("discount" groceries), go to grocery stores in the early AM when they're discounting all their "freeze by" meats.

    - My gaming group shares our xbox logins as each others homes. So, with the one I'm linked up with, we only have to buy one digital copy of a game and we each get it, so we take turns doing that. It feels skeezy, but... it's an option Microsoft lets you do, so it's not exactly cheating or wrong. It's just kinda... tricky?

    - I'm also a kind of... good? hoarder? My house is clean and organized, but I'll buy things I don't need but I'll totally use someday if I see it cheap enough. For this reason, if I need, say, a notebook. I know exactly where I have 5 of them. And I got them for .50 instead of $3. If I need black beans? Fuck yeah I have like 10 damn cans in my pantry. Oh gosh, there was amzreviewtrader.com for awhile, exchanging amazon reviews for free (or cheap) products, and I have enough vitamins, cables, phone cases, bags, and kitchen items to last me a lifetime.

    - I guess another thing is I don't really do the whole girly "shoes and purses" thing. Not judging anyone who does, I just can't. My most expensive purse is like $20 from Amazon, and I rarely use it. Shoes are flipflops, chucks, and I might have one pair of dressy shoes? Now that I think of it, I don't even know if I do. I have boots. I like boots.

I feel like I typed this a year ago but just found it lost among tabs, lol. I should edit to make it shorter, but fuck it. :)

I couldn't get my mic working for all those Jams. On the bright side when A9's approve I'll be over 10000

Lol. How long have you been turking?

It took me awhile to get up to my goal of $50 a day. First I started with a $10 a day goal. When that became easy, I went for $15, then $20, then $30. Then I said, "F that. I'm getting to $50!" And I did.

I only use Pandas and HitScraper. I have no special closed quals. I only do surveys. Unless there is a batch like those Jamileos. But I only do surveys that are $1 and up. As the day goes on and the higher paying HITS dwindle, I will do some quick $0.50 ones to hurry up and get to my goal. After you've been turking awhile you will start to notice when you make the most money. Those are the times I work.

I also like to shop. So that is another motivator. I'm not motivated to turk if it's going to bills. So I set a reward, like that $150 perfume I talked about above, then I divide it by 5 days. That tells me I need to make $30 a day from Monday to Friday. I tell myself, "Don't make excuses. Just shut up and get the money so you can shop". On Saturday I have a nice smile on my face because I know I'm going shopping on Monday when my $150 hits my bank account.

Don't be depressed. When I first started turking and saw people's high daily/weekly earnings, all it did was tell me what could be achieved. Set a reward, then stay at your computer until you have accumulated the funds to buy it.
