Hmmm... that's a tough one because it's hard to imagine a scenario where I would know in advance that my work would be rejected. There's a lot of factors that come into play, one of the biggest being how good the payrate is (rather what it would end up being after rejections). So it's pretty hard to say. Probably, if the pay was high enough.

Two semi-related stories. Last January I did a few dozen 40 cent HITs for a new requester that were taking 20-30 sec each. Next day, one rejection (no reason given) out of some 30 approvals well before the AA. Next day I end up doing ~180 HITs and all approved the next day. Never saw the req again and no TO was ever left.

Another would be good ol' Baseline from last summer. Got in on their initial batch of 10 centers, did around 1,500 and went past my <99% worst case by a few hundred and stopped way early. All approved while I slept and they put out another mega-batch during the day which lasted a few hours instead of 6 or 7. I still regret not doing an extra 1,000+ from that first batch.

In the end, it's up to each worker to decide their course of action regarding risk vs. reward based on their experience and how comfortable they are with the worst case scenario. The collaboration and discussion here is a great way to figure out how to handle these decisions.

 

Btw these kind of rants are what happens when I'm trying to delay starting HIT Finder for as long as possible
