    yeah def sounds like a surge then.
    whelp, you better go find that warranty paperwork for it since most have a lifetime warranty
    ive had to do that for one of my larger UPS for that kinda reason. went to work and came home and it was smoke alarm sounding cause a surge had taken out the massive battery back up. did the paperwork and they shipped a BIG box to send the old back and send me a new one.

    I'm sure I'll REALLY miss it when I do have a surge. However UPS have been a money pit for me. Buy one, hook it up.. after some time it destroys the battery and it won't hold a charge anymore, and repeat. I've stopped throwing money into them.
