No, even when tornadoes come remotely close to us, our location doesn't get them. I am guessing that the tornadoes need a flat space to get stronger and travel, and we are in the hills.

Wait a minute! This would seem to indicate that the state-by-state maps I've seen showing which states prefer chili with beans, and which without, could be completely misleading, given the large size and diversity of (without) Texas!
I've also always ass-umed that Texans automatically think that barbecue is a 'beef' product, but maybe I'm wrong about that, too!
Still, I'll stick my neck out on this friendly forum, and say that barbecue is meant to be pork, and beef should be left for the things
with which it's superior. And as long as we're making (pork) barbecue, it should be done with a more vinegar/mustard sauce than
heavy duty tomato. Also, you should have cole-slaw with it! You can put it on your sandwich or have it on the side! (See? I'm
not hard to get along with!)

I've definitely come across some no beans chili die-hards (my husband is one, but always likes my chili whether it has beans or not, lol)

Also seen beef, and pork, and chicken barbecue. And vastly different tastes in coleslaw

Barbecued beef brisket is a big thing here, and it's super easy to cook.

 

It looks pretty cool, right? I just picked it up for $16 on Xbox even though I know I won't get to it for awhile.

 

Never heard of it. The rare times I get to play I usually grow the factory. The factory must grow.

 

Oh jeez - @Bob W you opened a whole can of it with BOTH the beans vs. no beans chili comment AND the pork vs. beef bbq. I've seen some serious controversy over both of these issues before on here.

I don't live in Texas and don't really like Chili in general but I can tell you my husbands family is all from Missouri and my brother lived in Texas and I've had some pretty amazing beef brisket..... but also have been to a number of pig roasts so I think it's kind of a toss-up as to which wins.

BBQ can definitely be beef (particularly brisket), but if is Pork I do agree with not going too heavy on the tomato. We used to have an annual pig roast at my brothers and it wasn't vinegar/mustard or tomato but actually a strong bourbon injection with a little brown sugar, spices, etc etc.

 

Nope I really wanted to but now I'm unsure. I usually don't listen too much to other's advice on games but my cousin said it's very bland. Same models for everything and same loot over and over again. Everything looks and plays boring I was told.

 

Ah that sucks. Hopefully I have a better experience with it.

 

Texas BBQ is both beef and pork because we like our choices unless it's beans in chili, than there is no choice.

 

I hope so for sure! It may very well be good! Games are very subjective.
