    Segment 1 (1-5 minutes): Segment 1 asks for some information about you and your experience with online presentation of visual media (e.g., videos, articles, images, etc.). Participants with satisfactory completion of Segment 1 will be compensated $0.50 and be eligible for Segment 2 as well as additional bonus compensation.

    • Segment 2 (90-120 minutes): Segment 2 instructs participants to read several short text excerpts then complete memory tests for the content read, as well as several questions about perceptions of the texts. Materials for this segment will be presented as one of three conditions:

      • One-session, Short Condition (approximately 90 minutes): Participation will involve completing the task as described above, and will be compensated up to $9.25 as a bonus according to performance and the amount of work completed.

      • One-session, Long Condition (approximately 120 minutes): Participation will involve completing the task as described above as well as responding to questions about personality and preferences. Participants will be compensated up to $12.50 as a bonus according to performance and the amount of work completed.

      • Two-session Condition (approximately 120 minutes): Participation will involve completing the long, single session condition described above, with the last 30 minutes taking place in a second session. Participants will be compensated up to $12.50 as a bonus according to performance and the amount of work completed. Participants will be contacted by email to participate in the second session approximately a week after completing the first session and they will have 48 hours to complete the second session.
    Annoying, and also underpaid even if they do pay out the bonus...
