I think I paid $15, total, for my monitors. They're different brands, different sizes, one's got slight burn-in, and the one with the sharper picture displays weird cooler colors.

In fact, almost my entire set up is made up of junk/thrift store parts. Even the keyboard and mouse (which, yes, I took apart and cleaned/inspected).

Obviously, it's a safer bet to go with new, what with warranties, guarantees and all that. I just hate it when people throw out perfectly good technology for no reason. Oh, well. Their loss, my gain and all that.

 

If you wanted to talk about things that I talk buy that most consumers wouldn't care about a good example would be either my headphones (they are AKG k240s) as they are higher quality than most bother with although fairly cheap or the DAC/AMP that I just bought because most people just use on board audio.

I think you misunderstood my intention as I was picking on you which is def not the case. When I was your age I was all about bigger better faster newer, and now I'm older I'm just like does it do A, B, and C to at least a minimal level? Yea ok i'm good with that then lol.

 

I just make sure I get my money's worth when I buy something. Even when I'm buying something like a kettle lol.

I had one for a few years that just kept getting dimmer and dimmer so by the end I had to set the brightness all the way up to see anything. Now I see people screaking about 4k this and 4k that, and I'm just like... but I push the button and mine comes on, it's just as good as yours!!!!

 

I wouldn't put the name. I'd mark it can't find unit.

 

And most people don't have a computer strong enough to push 4k and the consoles that claim to fail pretty hard at it as well.

 

That's exactly what I was going for lol. Like you get really into it and would probably see what the kettle is made of, how thick is the metal, what is the average second rating for heating to boiling over a set heat point, how is the flavor dispersion rate, and is the whistle in tune. And most other people are like... oh that's cute i'll get that one lol.
