Last time I asked they said they'd email me when the qual was going to be opened. I didn't get an email, so hopefully not.

Hello peeps - I need advice!

I am working with friends to get an activity ready for science cap that will involve deploying a survey on MTurk and then attempting to weight the responses to reproduce the results from a high-quality telephone sample (if there is still such a thing). This is part of a summer school, so purely educational.

However, friends from across the ocean noted that the activity is very American (in that we sort of implicitly assume that all survey data is from USA), but the summer school has partner locations (video streaming and onsite TAs) in Turkey, Germany, UK, Mexico, Switzerland, and South Africa. So, we’d like to internationalize a bit. My question: what are good alternatives MTurk that are popular elsewhere in the world? Prolific seems popular in the UK, but what else?

Mostly boring work stuff now, no recent drama. Emails were just the spoopy stats emails and the "incorrect address found" ones that were done by other VRAPI'ers, lol. :emoji_sweat_smile::emoji_rolling_eyes:

The other options are worse than mturk even for non US people from what I can tell. Well at least from the worker side....

This feels more like something that you would get a better response to in /r/mturk or /r/SitesLikeMturk/ as most of us are US workers.

I'm surprised I haven't got these yet. Had some dicey ones but YOLO submitted 'em. I just remember tons of people like posting screenie after screenie trying to get help and waiting for Gerard(?) or whoever to tell 'em if they were right. By the time they were done had to be like $2 an hour. Or if they didn't hear back would just return it or let it expire. If you had a legit question nobody was gonna see it through all that lol.

The most important thing to know about American culture is that it is strictly taboo to eat granola on the 4th of July.

None of them had any merit. And Nitesh sent a bunch out right before he left and then we were told to ignore them. :emoji_laughing::emoji_rolling_eyes:

It's not quite as bad. Either they're learning from asking the questions or learning to shut up and just do the work. :dunno:
