    What you are saying is why I'm skeptical of google, I don't want to pay 60 bucks for something that I can't play in a year if they fail horribly.

    is it actually enforced? I've "technically" had a data cap for the past like 10 years in the terms of service - but it's not enforced. Comcast rep even told me that it's only there for people who are seriously abusing it and he's never seen anyone actually have it enforced on them.

    No I'm skeptical of everything and everyone. Ross explains it better then I could. I hate corporations and I feel like this is a push to take away end user rights to things you've bought.
    Also, I'm not worried about my net sucking too hard for it, I get a steady 90mbps (even though I fucking pay for 100)

    Yes it is enforced here in the ole Kansas City MO, you get 1 terabyte which according to them "99% of people never use that much" I use that much in about 4 days.

    So my bill is 50 bucks higher every month because I have to pay to be uncapped.

    My husband has the smart phone. We don't need 2 phones. 1. that's stupid to pay for another one when I am nearly 100% attached to his hip, and 2. Why would I want more phones listening in on me?

    Yeah, the "99% of people never use that much" argument that they used before 4k became more widely accepted because they knew in 5 years they would be able to milk a large portion of their users for that 4k $$$.

    Also new one! Your HARD drive (not ssds) are actually able to record what you're saying. The vibrations of you talking are also lightly etched into the drive in the old platter ones. I'm not actually worried about it, but it's funny.

    I told a friend of mine who basically Grinches about his smart phone.......he's like 36 by the way, and hangs out with a lot of old people. I told him functioning in life without the internet is impossible. Then he proceeded to tell me how he doesn't have a computer and he's fine and that it's my fault for relying on the net and I'm like, yes how dare I use something that makes life easier...

    Then I told him life was passing him by because he refusing to adapt to where the world was going and then he somehow got pissed and took that as I told him to go die.

    I'm using what I have to while still not using things that I really hate! Like the NSA spyware of Alexa and those other echo products. I can turn on my own lights and make my own timers. There's a point of healthy acceptance and still being skeptical.
