I get exactly how he feels, in school I just wanted everyone to leave me alone as long as I did my work.

 

Poor kid probably has to be. Kidney disease, no family, has to leave school to live in a hospital.

When he was wiping tears talking about people just kicking your out even when things are going well...I cried.

Damn I was so happy his teacher stepped up and is going to adopt him. What an awesome human.

Also, by the way, in case I'm not online...happy first Father's Day!

I just spent my afternoon searching for a way to keep a mom and her Kindergartener from becoming homeless. She is a former tenant of ours, so we are going the extra mile. So I think I'm extra emo tonight, and that news story hit me in the feels, because in some ways my hands are tied when it comes to helping her, but we are calling our lawyer on Monday to ask about options we can take and still be in compliance with the stupid restrictive laws that have been passed in the last few years that prevent me from (legally) being flexible.
