yea no, a virtual machine is an unreliable solution as well even if you pass through the graphics card. I couldn't even get one to run Sims 2 properly

and I've spent way too much time fucking with wine over the past several years, and having games that won't launch when I use it.

at some point I decided I'd rather play the games than spend days just trying to get them to run. I find I enjoy them more that way.
