Consider having a short screener survey for a couple cents in order to recruit the right population for your survey. This way you can grant a qualification to your full survey to those who can actually speak to your research topic.

 

you are too young for the desire to have come back around again. In the late 90’s we didn’t want to wear what we wore in the 80’s but 15 years later we it came back around and we did. Of course you’re 12 and don’t know about those things but hey early 90’s mom jeans are back in to the delight of no one

This is exactly what I am doing as of now. Is there anything that I can do refresh my survey so that it bumps to the front of everyone's home page?

 

Not exactly but you can send a reminder email to whoever has the qual for it if you haven't already. Sometimes I don't see the surveys I get screened into if the requester doesn't email unless I'm actively looking for it because there is no alert system.

Ok. Great. How long should I be allowing to complete the survey? I'm learning that your community uses queueing when working through studies.

 

You'll definitely need to send out emails letting the people you've qualified know that the HIT is available. If you haven't done that - they probably have no idea the sirvey exists. Especially - If you're only qualifying a small demographic to take it. Also with the less available worker pool for you to draw from - all the more reason to increase pay

 

There's really no reason to set a short timer on your surveys unless you need to get your data super fast. Giving workers a couple hours so that they can accept your survey and then start working on it when they feel comfortable is good practice.

 

Depends on the size of your worker pool and the amount of responses needed really. Gotta understand many of the people you've qualified may not be full time turkers. They may turk once a week when bored. Dunno. Gotta give time.

 

Great. I plan on extending it once I close this round out. I'm approximately 70% of the way there. I'll bump it out a few more hours. Average completion time is around 12 minutes. I hope that does the trick.

Based on some of the responses here, I may hold off on that for now. I don't want angry people targeting the survey because I can't afford to pay more than $10 per hour as a graduate student.

 

We understand. We're not angry or anything. But the better pay is a sure fire way to increase engagement. It is what it is
