Ugh, HF looking extra bleak this morning.

 

Whole lot of opinions on this thread for a Monday morning

 

I missed most of the anger. I was laying down and talking to a cat.

 

We're all humans and we all suck.

 

Speaking of RA, I'm about to throw a little unsolicited advice your way.

Don't let your perception of certain groups affect your ability to try things that you might actually enjoy. You are only going to hurt yourself. What if hipsters claimed ownership over sex and pizza and beer?

 

If it makes you feel better, I at least partially agree with you. People have a hard time letting go of their childhood nostalgia, and it makes them unable to realize that movies you watched and loved as a kid simply aren't that great when watched fresh from an adult viewpoint. Same goes for books or games or whatever other form of entertainment your parents let you have access to.

 

I mean, I know other people who have had similar experiences. I'm sure it helps to watch those movies with someone who already enjoys them. Some cult movies aren't as good when you watch them years later but plenty hold up as being genuinely good films. If you don't laugh when ET gets drunk off Coors and Elliot falls over in class, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW YOU.

I legit forgot how dark Saturday Night Fever gets until we watched it on Netflix last year. Matt had never seen Forrest Gump without the sketchy parts being cut on tv, and was horrified when he realized he had missed how weird some of the plot points are. Matt is always culturally behind by a good bit so I always get the fun of introducing him to things- he thinks I'm super in the know.

 

I think everyone is just salty that YTA's didn't drop a Monday morning how do ya do on all of us.
