    Super late here (as usual) but the key to chard is simply fat (butter or olive oil) + coarse salt and pepper + heat. If they are bitter, at more fat. If they are bland, at more salt and pepper. Other than that you can remove those pretty ass ribs and wilt it and use it just as you would spinach in just about anything

    I ended up wilting it and mixing it in a homemade mac & cheese (the recipe called itself an easy alfredo but it was pretty much a mac and cheese sauce, especially after I realized my parm was moldy and I had to sub in a bag of pizza blend cheese) and then pan steaming and then slightly charring some green beans and carrots from the garden to go on the side.
    It was yummy.
