Baking soda or salt? Did you mix it with anything or just douse dry and brush, then vacuum? It's weird, sometimes Benedryl doesn't phase me, but then the next time I take it I can't keep my eyes open.

 

Soooo, just checking here, but...you know that fleas live in hardwood too? The cracks and corners and tiny spaces between boards are good hidey holes for them. Just in case you hadn't treated the floors already!

I use capstar on Bearnie, it's one of the only flea treatments he's not allergic to. We've used comfortis as well, worked pretty much the same

 

diatomaceous earth will kill pretty much any bugs however that shit is hard as fuck on your vaccuum so if you own like a dyson avoid using it on that job till after you use a crappy one to get the giant load of powder. The biggest issue with the earth stuff is for it to work right you'd have to leave it down for a couple of days, it kills the bugs by drying out their exo skeleton.

 

It's to basically cut up the fleas manually! You can also use diatomaceous eath! it will cut them up and they die.

 

Oh yes, we still did everything to the hardwood. And vacuumed it. But, I think it would be much worse in carpet. I'll look at Comfortis.

We had this weird problem where my daughters room had these things called carpet beetles, they're tiny bugs that eat polyester, carpet, shit like that and if they get on you it looks like you have a rash.

 

we just put down baking soda as if it was the vacuum-powder-smelly-good-stuff, and rubbed it into the thicker materials like carpet to get it really deep down.

I had literally never heard of the things till a few months ago...also if you have any type of infestation a good way to kill bugs is steam, a steamer will own them.

 

It's a mix of dehydration and literally slicing them up with how pointy the little diatoms are, which is amusingly metal. You can also rub it on your pets cause it won't slice them up, but will murder some fleas. When we lived on the cow farm, I would give the dogs baths and rub it along with their shampoo (on advice of the vet) and sprinkled it on their outdoor beds. Worked well!

 

Bearnie is like you and deathly allergic to fleas.

Also allergic to all topical flea meds
