I found a Gamegear at a Goodwill for like $5 with 20 games. I stopped collecting consoles and went for Arcade cabinets.

The Chicagoland ones are fantastic. They really don't have any idea what most things are worth and slap a $3-5 sticker on most things. They will get a ps4 or something in and stick a new price tag on it, but almost everything else is rock bottom cheap.

quite the contrary. i would read that shit under my covers at night.

100% not bashing religion, but my parents were super super conservative. it was hell trying to be fun and creative and learn shit without them deeming it evil. i read all of the 4 original books in 6th grade :D

That's kinda funny. Yeah I had friends parents who were like that. Goes to show ya the more you try and stop a kid from doing something the less you know what they are up to. At least you turned out OK. Some of my friends we will just say kinda went off the rails. My parents would just kind of screen stuff to make sure it was appropriate my Mom and I would talk Harry Potter and Narnia all the time.

This is the original cabinet I got when I was younger. I'm at ~14 cabinets currently.

amusingly, narnia is 100% bible based (at least... it attempts to follow the christian narrative, in metaphor). and yeah, i have 3 kids now. one is 7 and i haven't even introduced religion. when she's ready and wants to know about it, i'll give her my most unbiased approach to it. AND (because kid raising is almost as controversial as *insert almost everything these days*) hopefully they have a chance to figure it out for themselves :p

i'm glad i turned out how i am, it couldve been worse, couldve been better. life is crazy, ya know? :p
