I was thinking about buying it and may anyway since it's so cheap right now. but I do not currently have the ability to download anything to my computer (Chromebook) but been considering a desktop

 

It might be possible to run it with full linux mode on the chromebook but honestly the hardware on those things are so weak that it likely won't work that well. (The game has linux support)

 

could I purchase it now and download later when I get the desktop (probably 2 months or so)

 

Yeah I have plenty of games in my steam library that I haven't ever installed but I still own them lol

On a side note it looks like most people have had decent success with running the game under linux after installing it with Crouton. (It isn't a very demanding game. )
