    outboard motor that guzzles gas decently quick, so definitely not cost effective to go with the pre-mixed/nonethanol gas. I'll be winterizing it in the winter, but as far as ever having to take the carb out to clean - I'm trying to avoid doing that so hoping a fuel additive may help me achieve that level of laziness. Runs fine now btw

    So it's oil injected? That's neat I've never dealt with an oil injected outboard before. Just the jetskis and snowmobiles that are oil injected. My outboards are all four strokes. Sea foam mixed gas should be just fine then. Would at least keep the ethanol gum from sticking in the lines and on the needle, seat, and bottom of the bowl. What make and model of outboard? Just so I can look at a schematic for curiosity's sake and see how she works.

    Seafoam in the gas tank before winterizing helps. I would toss some in the tank, run it through the system before tossing it in storage. I would be terrified to use it in a much older car for fear of knocking loose 20yrs worth of carbon, but if you have a newer motor, it wouldnt do any harm.

    I guess my old Kawasaki bikes from the 70's and 80's are oil injected and I've run seafoam through them and that helped keep the carbs clean. Didn't even get them winterized one year and it fired up just fine come spring time. It helps to not have the oil in the gas and running through the carb too. Since it injected right at the rotary valve.

    its not oil injected, I mix it myself. Just meant I don't want to buy the premixed stuff you can get at walmart next to the chainsaws and stuff. It's an 80s mercury 2 stroke. They're all pretty mcuh the same from what I gather.

    There do exist oil injected outboards, but people tend to hate them and remove the oil injectors and just premix just in case the oil injector fails - they won't ruin their motors.

    I don't really know what I'm talking about with engines btw so if I sound stupid - that's why lol
