I was watching some doubles tournaments and they seemed super fast paced/snowball-y. Is that a matchmaking issue or like a lack of a playerbase? I haven't seen if it is doing well with numbers.

It's an arena FPS. FAST is inherent to the genre. It's one of the reasons I like TF2 so much(the other being movement), though I haven't been super into Quake's competitive scene since keeping up with TF2's dead one is more than enough for me.

 

Does anyone here use overwatch?

Currently I use PC and HIT Forker and am thinking about adding overwatch to look for keywords like qual and survey/study. Is this the best use for it?

Overwatch is EOL and a waste of page requests. You can do basically everything that OW can do with hit forker and hit finder's include list.

 

Yeah I just meant the 2 minute queue times. Sometimes it's a shitty matchmaking system that just takes forever, sometimes it's just a lack of a large enough playerbase that makes the wait times longer. TF2 is classic. Haven't played that in years though.

It's not a very popular genre of FPS, so it might be the lack of players. Quake games in general also have a fairly high skill ceiling and that tends to drive people away because they want low skill floor/ceiling FPS games like Overwatch and Fortnite. I still play TF2 pretty frequently, every season that there's enough teams to actually keep playing 6s is a miracle at this point.
