No, it's obvious when a hard block has been issued since on mturk I qualify for the HIT, but once I try to accept it it says I am not qualified. If it was a qual softblock, the HIT wouldn't show up for me as something I qualify for

Are there lots of cases of people losing the CR1 qual?

 

Yes, for sure. And the thing that gives me the most pause is some of the most respected turkers have lost the CR1- no one's invulnerable, no matter your quality, consistency, etc. I still just do my best, but I'm aware that's not any guarantee.
