I crush it up and add it to Bearnie's wet food. The key is to get smelly food that the cat really likes, I've found! This is how I give Scrags and Coug and all the others meds at various points, as well.

One of my cats refuses to eat wet food, so if you're unlucky enough to have a similarly picky eater, I have to wrap him up in a towel, tilt his head up, drop the pill in as far as possible, and massage his throat until he swallows against his will. It's... a process.

 

What kind of cat doesn't eat wet food???

 

I've done that with the liquid meds & pills as well, and it suuuuucks. The best was when Bearnie, Porgy, and Scrags all had the same infection that they passed around and didn't want to eat- I was in literal hell giving them drugs and forcibly feeding them cat formula for like a week. Still no clue why Holly didn't get sick too- she's an antisocial tank.

Scrags won't even look at dry food. To be fair, he has very few teeth and he's decrepit, but HOO BOY. If he thinks I'm too slow to get his special bowl of wet food out, the screeching will commence. I think he's trying to make me go as deaf as he is!
