I usually a buy a box of the notebooks. I should have again this year (and I may yet) but I was so mad they went up from 17c last year that I only bought 10.

lol @ places trying to get me to do a survey after I've been there as a customer. I look at them and go "What's the pay? Nothing???"

 

That would be a lot less expensive and time consuming.

Yeah, I can leave polar bear for this issue. He is spending $20 for a 500 A4 papers instead of the ones that I am using for $5.99. His notebooks has hard cover; not even my books.

 

100% I got a phone call the other day asking me what my favorite local radio station was even though it was a quick call and the person was friendly I felt cheated. I want my pennies damn it

 

I homeschool-ish (we mostly unschool). So school supplies are odd for us and usually never at school supply time. But I bought those notebooks, a project notebook (Cambridge, love those things), a couple of 4x4 grid notebooks, a huge pack of super awesome pens, black presharpened Ticonderoga pencils, some pencil grips, pretty colored paper clips/binder clips/push pin set, highlighters, some $5 thumb drives, and a huge pack of double tipped whiteboard pens. Maybe more stuff. Oh yeah, post it flags and notes, and some stuff that my oldest daughter tossed in the basket that who knows. Got out for less than $100, and feel like I need to get back ASAP before the regular schoolers swarm and kill the place. School and office supplies are my happy place. But there's a book sale this weekend, so I'm trying to be good.

Whoops, I did not know you were talking about kids. Well, we do not have kids but you cannot imagine how costly @Polar Bear is. He does not work on a computer like me, all he needs a pen and a paper, but I cannot remember leaving, just for once, Staples under than $300 just for his needs.

 

Sounds like me last week, I started out with $1500 for school supplies and $800 for school clothes, fast forward to this Monday. I had like 8 bucks left.

I don't even have kids, but the kids and there moms were quite happy with the turnout, so that's all that really matters.

 

That's my husband. I make due with said cheap notebooks, loose leaf, etc. He ends up with leatherbound notebooks and nice weight paper for correspondence, etc. His trips are always like $300 at Staples too. It's nuts.

 

It's amazing, I've been turking for like 3 months and now I gauge things like "is this worth a survey of my time?"

Or yanno, I could just be going

 

"Oh look, there is a shiny $15 notepad which I will never use but it is great for my colleagues to steal"
