I mean yeah I agree. But what can we do that doesn't compromise our own privacy, or enable others to potentially steal as @jessers so aptly explained? Maybe donate it to the requester's charity of choice?

 

There's always another possibility with such a large mistakenly sent bonus... an equally moral and conscious-free alternative rather than keeping it for oneself I'd say (and for any survey taking Turker', it's something we are all familiar with) - donate the extra to a charity!

For me personally, I'd donate to something the American Cancer Society (mom died of cancer) or other humanitarian options (feeding the hungry, providing clean water, etc.). Perhaps an animal or environmental cause is your thing... or whatever your fav. might already be. (One I would NOT advise is the Red Cross - far too much controversy - corruption, lies, stolen or diverted funds, etc.)

Just a thought if you can't directly return the money and still want to do a 'right thing'.
