    I have a crap immune system and get Strep Throat almost every year and got tired of going to the doctors 45 mins away for the simple throat swab.

    So.... a couple years ago I ordered my own test kits. It did NOT go well. I couldn't get a clean test even though I tried multiple times. I think my doctor was able to easily say "hey look over here" with one hand and professionally get a test that I couldn't force myself to do with the other.

    I'm guessing the covid test is similar. Not sure, based on family and friends being tested, I could pull it off accurately myself.

    i have a hyper gag reflex, i have to had the misdirection like that also to get anything throat culture wise done without sedation, but with this massively hyperactive thyroid, they are now thinking thats why i have a hyper gag reflex

    Same. A throat culture is brutal for me. Which is why I ordered the kits to try myself.

    All because of thyroid issues.

    I no longer have a thyroid (surgery)...but have cells that are left behind after surgery that you have to get used to and still effect your TSH levels. I am on a "get tested every 6 weeks cycle", but that has been thrown into a bit of chaos with covid.

    yeah ive been doing my due diligence reading up and ive got this god awfully long list of things "wrong" with me that can be attributed to the thyroid problem. its just nuts

    It's really tru tho. I've had this for 30 years now and can tell when my synthroid is off. It effects pretty much everything.
