The other thing that makes it worse is had he apologized and said he knew it was wrong wouldn't do it again etc etc, he would be harshly punished but it goes to another level when he sits there and says "I don't think this is doing anything wrong"

I cannot even begin to describe the amount of hell that would rain down on any of my underage kids if I found this stuff out. They would have NO LIFE for a long time. Trust would be completely blown. They would have no internet, no phones, nothing. My kid would go to school, then come to work with me after school. I would be super harsh now so they don't continue down a path like this and get in some serious legal trouble.

You do what is best for your family, but you're asking for advice. Go overboard. This is serious in my opinion. If one of those younger kid's parents find out where they got their supplies? They'll totally turn your kid in. You want to stop this now before there is proof of what he's doing and the law does get involved for more than just scaring them straight.

He lost all of his electronics, phone, tv everything, took his debit card and his drivers license. I did that to my daughter also for having a vape.

Now the thing is, school starts this week and he has football, we're strongly considering now allowing him to play but of course if I do that he'll threaten to "move out" which is a whole nother can of worms.

Urgh the plot thickens... Honestly it's bout time to break out the belt and go to town... Calling the police is only going to mark him as a report will most likely be filed. I would say take care of it in the home first...

As @tricker just said lay the punishment on thick and stop it before the police get involved.

 

Uhhhh yeah I'm gonna push back on the cop advice a little; cops don't exactly treat--ahem--everyone the same so truly consider the possible consequences if you go that route. Rather than opening your child to such consequences, perhaps you can find and share stories of teens who have gotten caught and faced legal trouble as well as some of the recent research on vaping and youth which seems to point to more negative impacts than previously thought. Your mention of varied punishments sound good and appropriate as well!

The other issue it creates is because he has a job and works late a lot, it really hurts his mom and I because we get up at 5 AM and then he'll work till 11 PM, its tough when it's like so you fucked up and it punishes me too...thank you.

The sports thing is an issue too to be honest but I'm not sure what to do about that.

 

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't this border on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor?
