My 16 year old is is this kid...this is for reference.

Always thinks he is the smartest person in the room. He is very untrustworthy because you basically have to catch him red handed doing something and he'll still deny it. He is very manipulative of people, he did this a lot when he was younger. I fully remember as a 10 year old he would take these nice old ladies and totally work them. He once manipulated a therapist...

He manipulates his grandparents a lot and if you tell them what he's doing they're like "oh he's not like that, hes a sweet boy"

That is basically what I'm dealing with so he's very hard to get to admit he makes mistakes, he also has borderline sociopathic personality issues according to a therapist a few years ago.

 

Is there any place you can get professional advice? Maybe take the kid(s) to a counselor with you, so everyone can communicate in a neutral space in a productive way. It's just gonna be impossible for anyone else here to fully understand the situation. Is this a thing a school counselor should be made aware of, forum parents?

I don't wth I'm talking about though. Another problem with crowdsourcing parenting advice is all the childless idiots like myself come out to "help" - what's your QA strategy for all this data you're collecting?

Just trying to get some pooling info from other parents, parenting is hard. I try to walk that line and not to be to harsh but be fair. Therapy can be helpful but I learned this, it has to be for a person that wants it to work.
