She will most likely never use mturk again. She tried to reverse them, Amazon was unable to help her, she cannot reverse the rejections. She's followed all directions on the Amazon site to get them reversed and nothing is working.

She was heavily harassed, threatened, bullied, etc. when this happened, which I think has completely put her off using Mturk.

I actually feel bad for her since she did want to make it right but is unable to due to Amazon not providing the support she needs (at least, that was what she last wrote to me in several emails we exchanged, and what was posted by several on Reddit).

 

It depends. If it's been over a month since she rejected the work, then according to Mechanical Turk, the rejections can't be overturned. Why? I don't know. But, if it has been under a month, she can call them on a phone and have them manually reverse it. A requester told me the same thing "Can't reverse it on the website", "Amazon doesn't make it easy". Probably true, but it doesn't mean it's impossible.

A lot of requesters are fair and helpful and don't mind correcting their mistakes, but the truth is, a lot of requesters are also incompetent and lazy and don't want to try beyond steps 1 to 3. Even after you spoon feed them the info they need to reverse a rejection.

All I can say is she reported to me and to others that she's tried "everything." I'm unsure what that means, but since she did reply to several people and when I sent her links given to me here on how to do it and contact Amazon, she said she's tried it all.

All I know is she did try, she didn't just blow people off. That's all I'm stating. Seems like Amazon was not responsive to her requests for help.

I wasn't doubting you. Not commenting specifically on the requester you guys mentioned. Just felt like sharing what I've learned through my dealings with requesters. Obviously my experiences won't apply to all requesters who reject, especially if there is no IRB to contact.
