For a team of 8 developers and a game made in 1997, it provided timeless experiences for the time. It's tough for me to play older games now considering what all we have available to us these days. I've tried to relive the glory days of Banjo Kazooie, but it just doesnt feel the same. :/

Sometimes scripts take a few webpage reloads to take in. Or die at random too.
Kad's keybind does it every once in a while.

Some of them aged pretty well, Jak and Daxter is still great which is probably why it keeps getting remastered.

My PANDA crazy dies every time I log in, so I have to remove and reload the script every time I come to turk on my home computer. My work computer works without fail and has been for years now.

Collect-a-thons are able to survive the test of time, but usually only with severe nostalgia. I'm able to play Spyro, Crash, and Kazooie just fine, but I had to force my way through Banjo Tooie which I never played as a kid. It might not help that I played them back to back.

I always get so confused when people say things don't age well. Is it different than today's stuff? Yes? Will playing what I have today effect my enjoyment if I try some game from the past that I grew up with... nope!

Lol. That was a game that I wasn't allowed to play as a kid. I feel like I should give it the time of day considering it was rated M well ahead of its time.

While I agree whole heartedly that the nostalgia factor is always there, its my interests in games that have changed over time. I dont like linear games anymore, but tend to seek out open world games. Witcher 3 is really what ruined a lot of games for me. Completely upstaged Skyrim and Fall Out in most ways(in my opinion) and since then I really only seek out games where I am free to do what I want.

Interests changing is different I would say but I get what you are syaing here. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Skyrim is a very dumbed down game anyway. It's just a shadow of what Morrowind/Arena/Daggerfall were.

Interesting! Open world games are my go to and I have never played witcher 3. Only played the first one. Might have to load that one up.

It's mainly that there are plenty of older games that still have great stories and are worthy of being played. But there are some others that when you play them today they don't stand the test of time, that's all I meant.
