09/03 - The Third is on a Thursday

Yeah dude, life definitely sucks and shit can happen at any turn. Everybody can't just be a winner by working hard. I just think there's a lot of people that capitalize on that fact and let themselves sink down and then start to need resources from other people among other things. Mental illness plays a factor in these situations too much of the time though. I'm really sympathetic to all of it.

But that goes back to my original statement which I think may have gotten a little misinterpreted. A lot of people spend their time hating the rich, many of whom do millions of dollars in charity work every year, when they could be helping themselves and the poor and doing things like helping educate people on how to break the cycle.

Two years ago I was homeless, on hard drugs, in and out of the hospital (racking up some great USA hospital bills), and had negative money. By negative money I mean I owed a lot to some pretty violent people. I got a laptop and dug up my old MTurk account and started by making like 3 dollars a day. I took out a lot of credit cards and figured out how to use them to stay afloat and offset some of the costs of living. I MTurked in public libraries until I got a car. Got clean off the drugs without help. Then I did it out of my car. Bought a cell phone with an unlimited data plan so I could turk better on the road. Got my own place and built a better computer and by then I was really good at turking and here I am today. Some of my best friends didn't make it, because they weren't able to figure out that path. Yesterday was the one year "anniversary" of my best friend that I found dead and had to explain to his mom. All I'm saying is that kind of shit is possible, but at the same time I am extremely compassionate towards those that struggle to do so. Which is why I think the compassion and education and focus on changes in infrastructure is more important than just saying fuck Jeff Bezos, ya know? Some of those really wealthy guys do more philanthropy than a lot of people could ever manage in their lifetimes. But I digress, lets do some HITs.
